Landlord EICR Certificates Leeds: Compliance Guide

Since the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector regulations came into force, every landlord in England must have a valid EICR for each tenanted property.

An EICR is a formal inspection of the fixed wiring in a property. It checks for deterioration, defects and non-compliance with current wiring regulations.

For most rented homes in Leeds, an EICR is required at least every 5 years, or at change of tenancy where requested. Failure to comply can result in significant enforcement action.
